20: How to Manifest Becoming a Bestselling Author – Step 5: Make Space for the Magic

We made it. The final step in my manifestation method for manifesting your bestselling author life.

But before we dive in, I want you to pause for a moment and ask yourself: How comfortable are you with letting go of control and trusting that things will work out?

If your answer is “not very,” you’re not alone. This was the hardest step for me, too. I wanted to control everything — every outcome, every detail, every “what if.” But here’s the truth I had to learn the hard way: control is an illusion. In fact, it’s often a trauma response. And once I finally released that need to control? My manifestations came through faster, bigger, and better than I could have imagined.

So let’s talk about step five: Make Space for the Magic. This is about surrendering, letting go, and trusting that your desire will manifest in its own time, in its own way.

The Renee Ella D.R.E.A.M Method

Now that we’re at the final step, let’s recap my five-step manifestation formula:

D – Define → Set your intention with detail and passion.

R – Release → Let go of inner resistance and mental clutter.

E – Embody → Match the vibe of your vision.

A – Act → Take aligned action steps toward your goal.

M – Make space for the magic → Surrender and have faith it’s already on its way.

When we put this into the context of becoming bestselling authors, this final step is the one that feels the scariest… but also unlocks the most flow.

Having Faith

This step is all about remembering you’re not building your dream life on your own. Manifestation is always a co-creation process. Whether you call on the Universe, Spirit, God, or something else, this is where faith comes in.

Release the How

Here’s where so many of us get stuck. We want something badly (like our book becoming a bestseller) and suddenly we’re fixated on every possible outcome. Am I making the right move? What if I’ve already messed it up? What if it never happens?

You. Need. To. Stop.

Obsession and fixation only push your manifestation further away. They reinforce the belief that you don’t have it yet, which only attracts more lack.

One of my biggest lessons in releasing the how came when I set the goal to pay off $30K of debt in six months. I thought the only way was to grind harder — so I pushed myself into 60+ hour work weeks. The result? I injured myself and couldn’t work full-time for months.

But with space forced upon me, the magic unfolded. I suddenly remembered a workplace agreement I’d signed years earlier, setting aside money for long-service leave. One email later, I received a payout of $30K. Debt cleared in four months — with far more ease than the overtime grind could have ever created.

That’s the power of releasing the how.

Another powerful reminder of releasing the how — and also the when — comes when you’re manifesting your soulmate. You might be ready right now, but what if they’re not? They could be focused on building their career, healing from past wounds, or simply enjoying their single life. Even if you desire a perfect bookstore meet-cute this year, it won’t matter if they’re not aligned and ready yet.

The how and the when is not actually up to you. You want the magic of manifestation, then step the fuck back and let the Universe work its damn magic.

Control Is An Illusion

Here’s the thing: control is a lie we tell ourselves to feel safe. It’s our ego trying to protect us from failure, rejection, or the hard emotions we don’t want to face. But no matter how tightly you grip the reins, those emotions will still come.

The more you try to control every outcome, the more resistance you create — and the more you block the very magic you’re trying to call in.

That doesn’t mean effort doesn’t matter. If you never sit down to write your book, you can’t expect it to become a bestseller. But if you do pour everything into your story, polish it until you’re proud, and still don’t hit that exact outcome? That’s not failure. That’s redirection. It means the Universe has something else planned — something bigger, something better, something you can’t yet see.

What’s meant for you will not pass you by. Your job is to show up, take aligned action, and give it everything you’ve got. Then — hand the rest over. Trust that the Universe knows its role in this process.

4 Ways to Make Space for the Magic

 Be Kind to Yourself

You’re human. You’ll grip too tightly sometimes. That’s okay. Practice self-compassion, allow your full spectrum of emotions, and then realign when you’re ready.

 Make Your Beliefs Facts

Turn your beliefs into inevitable truths:

  • I know it will happen.

  • Everything always works out better than I can imagine.

  • The Universe is bringing me my desires.

✨ Embrace the Present Moment

Release worries about the future and regrets about the past. Bring your focus to the here and now, because this is where your power is.

✨ Release the Need for Control

Stop micromanaging every detail. Allow space for spontaneity, flexibility, and flow.

The Epilogue

Surrender isn’t weakness. It’s courage.

It’s not about giving up — it’s about trusting so deeply that you’re willing to let go and allow the Universe to do its part. It takes practice, patience, and self-compassion. But every time you release your grip, you make more space for the magic.

So keep showing up. Keep writing. Keep taking aligned steps. And then — let go. Trust. And allow the story of your bestselling author life to unfold.

Happy manifesting,
